Short version: Piano Play doesn't ask who you are, doesn't record you, and doesn't track you.

Who we are

Piano Play (piano.nexloft.uk) is run by Nexloft, an independent software studio in the United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@nexloft.uk.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts, names, email addresses or ages are requested in the app.
  • No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies are used.
  • No audio is recorded, stored or uploaded.

Microphone and MIDI

If you allow microphone access, your browser passes sound to Piano Play so it can work out which note you played. This happens in real time inside your browser on your device. The sound is never saved and never leaves your device. The same applies to notes from a MIDI keyboard. You can turn the microphone off at any time from the practice screen or your browser settings.

Data stored on your device

Your best scores, stars and practice settings are saved in your browser's local storage so they're there next time. This information stays on your device; we can't see it. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Hosting

The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the service. We don't use this information to identify or profile you.

If you email us

If you email us — for example to join the Pro waitlist — we use your email address only to reply to you, and delete it on request.

Children

Piano Play is designed for children and does not collect personal information from anyone. See our children's privacy notice for details.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what information we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Because the app itself collects none, this normally only applies to emails you've sent us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If we add features such as accounts in future, we'll update this policy before they launch and show the new date at the top.
