For parents

Piano Play is built for children aged about 5 to 14 who are just starting out — and it's designed to be safe to hand over.

Safe by design

  • No accounts. Your child never types a name, email or password.
  • No ads and no in-app purchases during the beta.
  • No recording. The microphone is only used to recognise notes, live, inside the browser. Audio is never saved or sent anywhere.
  • No tracking. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies. Progress is saved only on your device.

How it helps

  • Wait-for-me mode pauses the music until the right key is played, so beginners never fall behind.
  • Colour-coded notes (C is always red, D orange, E yellow…) make the keyboard easy to learn.
  • Sheet music view connects what they play to real notation as they grow.
  • Stars give a clear goal: replay a song to go from one star to three.

Getting set up

Any piano or keyboard works with the microphone. A digital piano with a USB cable gives the most accurate results in Chrome or Edge. No piano yet? Children can play on the screen or the computer keyboard. Start at Connect your piano.
